World Premier of "Inkwell Moonrise" the song written and inspired by her residency which was her first time ever on the island, in oak bluffs and experiencing the restorative energy of the inkwell beach. Grace Gibson @thegracegibson was our inaugural 2021 Musician in Residence. In this clip she delivers a high energy performance for "Road to the Roots" on the porch of the historic Dunmere Cottage (aka Dunmere by the Sea) delighting neighbors and friends with her original songs and unique style. The song Inkwell Moon Rise was inspired after she watched a moon rise over the Inkwell Beach Ocean during her stay with us. Grace will be performing on stage at the 2022 Jubilee Festival.
Amanda Diamond, Assistant Innkeeper & Millennial House artist in residence talks about joining the founding team of the Narragansett House - the why and how we started it all in Summer 2019. Amanda is not just a member of the team she is truly a member of the family, a founding member of staff (from opening season 2019) and co-creator in the vision of making the Narragansett House a destination for culture and community. Amanda grew up summers on the island and effortlessly switches between sharing tips with guests, curating cultural events and baking afternoon treats - her grandmothers amazing lemon cake is one of our favorites. Amanda is currently studying theater at the highly coveted Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.
Bobby Rogers, Millennial House Artist in Residence (2019 & 2021) photographing for Oak Bluffs Portrait project that captured first-time visitors, multi-generational families and a few special guests in-between. Portrait Exhibit coming to MV Museum Autumn 2022.

Grace Gibson surprises one of our special guests and signs her favorite hymn at an afternoon tea party. Our guest of honor was moved by her rendition of this Mahalia Jackson classic.
Even the rain couldn't take away the spirit of our popular porch musician and minister Sean McMahon as he ended his set with "At Last"
Rhonda K Brown @rkbfineart and Kahina @narragansetthouse met opening season at the Narragansett House / Millennial House pop-up art show. The morning of the show one of our favorite gallerists / neighbors and yoga partners Val @knowhereart brought "Bottom Heavy" painting to hang in the lobby for the show. When RKB came over to see her piece she met KVD and the two women connected. The following season (Summer 2020) the piece was unveiled as part of the permanent collection at the Narragansett House sparking a bond of friendship and collaboration. Here on the day of install the two women meet and talk art and life and philosophy - the importance of removing fear, pushing past boundaries and expectations to finding "anchor" and purpose..
We were so pleased to have Kemp Harris on our porch for our first ever Juneteenth celebrations in Oak Bluffs at the Narragansett House. He had us swinging, tearing and laughing. An unforgettable sundowner on the porch.
For the first Juneteenth in 2021 - Kahina does her first public interview with her dad. It is a powerful and personal session that went on for almost an hour as he shares what Juneteenth means, remembers the brave souls of the Union Army and how they helped win the Civil War, being on the frontlines of the Civil Rights movement and his experiences with the penal system. A full copy of the interview will be available on the Juneteenth Jubilee website. Don't miss this funny and moving clip between father and daughter. He even shares why he named her Kahina.
The original Millennial House residency at our first pop-up art show... it was also Kahina's first boomerang inspired by hanging around Millennials.
Millennial House 2019 included multi-disciplinary and our very own emerging genius cluster; Heywood Perry (Divinity Grad / Entrepreneur), Bobby Rogers (Visual Historian / Portrait Photographer), Jonathan Jackson (Writer / Editor), Autumn Breon (Rocket Scientist / Art Gallerist) and Amanda Diamond (Actor / Musician).
