juneteenth jubilee festival 2022 live event

Jubilee Festival Headliners Saturday, June 18th 3pm to 10pm

Announced May 2, 2022 - We are pleased to announce a world class line up of LIVE performances for our first ever Jubilee Fest to celebrate Juneteenth as a national holiday of freedom and joy.  We have a local and national line-up of trailblazers and icons to help us celebrate.  General admission is free but we do ask that we register for open seating. We do have dedicated seating for sponsor who donate to the Haven Arts Foundation. There will be virtual tickets for those who cannot be on island but wish to support and participate.


The festival is a 3-day multi-disciplinary celebration of freedom and joy with an acknowledgement of the contributions of African Americans to the cultural diaspora of the nation.  The event is welcome to all and free to the public and will include icons and trailblazers in multi-disciplinary arts including film, music, art, literature, history and culinary arts.

Grace Gibson - Singer, Songwriter, Filmmaker, Performer, Founder of Rock Noir

Announced April 28, 2022 - Our inaugural Millennial House musician in residence returns to the stage with her special combination of rock, funk, soul and blues tying it all together in her unique style and energy.  Her residency was the first time Grace had been on Martha's Vineyard and she was so moved by the place and people she wrote and performed a song on the porch "Inkwell Moonrise". Lynn Whitfield - Internationally Acclaimed Actress & Producer

Announced April 11, 2022 - We are pleased to announces internationally acclaimed actress Lynn Whitfield will join our upcoming Juneteenth Jubilee festival being held in Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard island the weekend of June 17 - June 20th 2022.  Lynn Whitfield is an American actress who is beloved for her iconic roles in Greenleaf, The Josephine Baker Story, A Thin Line Between Love and Hate, Eve's Bayou and countless movies and television shows.  Ms. Whitfield will perform a dramatic arts piece on stage joining other iconic and trailblazing multi-disciplinary artists.. She has won an Emmy award, received a Golden Globe Nomination and won seven NAACP Image awards.

juneteenth jubilee festival ANNOUNCES:NIKOLE HANNAH-JONes

Nikole Hannah Jones - Acclaimed Journalist, Pulitzer Prize Winner & #1 Bestselling Author

Announced March 28, 2022 - So excited to make our first announcement for our 2022 Juneteenth Jubilee Weekend. Nikole Hannah-Jones will join us for a fireside chat  at our Juneteenth Jubilee weekend in Oak Bluffs. Nikole is an investigative journalist known for her coverage of civil rights issues. Awarded the MacArthur Fellowship and recently the Pulitzer Prize for her work on the insightful 1619 Project. The 1619 Project book debuted #1 on the NYT Bestseller list where it remained for two months and continues to be in the top best selling books in the nation. Nikole is the inaugural Knight Chair at Howard University, where she founded the Center for Journalism & Democracy. Most of all Nikole is a refreshing beacon of truth at a time of national reconciliation and healing. She will join us on stage at The Tabernacle for an intimate fireside chat followed by a Q&A. We can't think of a more perfect person to keynote our Juneteenth Jubilee weekend which is a celebration of freedom and joy for all Americans. We are incredibly grateful to the MVCMA @mvcampmeeting which is co-sponsoring this Juneteenth Jubilee with us at The Tabernacle. It seems fitting that Nikole will be on the same stage that Frederick Douglass spoke on freedom for all. More great participants will be announced shortly.
